A Dutch oven is one of those staple accessories that everyone should have in their kitchen, no matter the level of their cooking skills. They’re perfect for making soups, stews, breads, and more. And while many Dutch ovens tend to be pricey — we’re talking hundreds of dollars — the Overmont 7-Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven is only about $80 regularly, and right now it’s 50% off on Amazon, bringing it to just $40.

The Dutch oven, which is available in three sizes and more than a dozen colors (most of which are on sale), is a go-to dish for making just about anything, especially those one-pot fall favorites you’ll be reaching for in just weeks. Below, I talk more about the do-it-all cookware, all of its features, why shoppers compare it to similar pots from luxury brands and why this deal is worth it.

Overmont 7-Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven

This Dutch oven is made from durable cast iron , which can handle high heat, baking, roasting and more, and it has a shiny enamel coating and doesn’t require seasoning. It’s available in 4.5-, 5.5- and 7-quart sizes and more than 12 colors, many of which are reminiscent of ones you’d see at more expensive brands like Le Creuset and Staub. Some shoppers even say it’s comparable to the quality of Le Creuset. One reviewer who makes sourdough bread wrote that they “have used both this and a Le Creuset; they both honestly perform the same. Highly, highly recommend!”

The heavyweight lid helps lock in flavor and juices, and the underside of the lid also has small bumps on it that help baste food with steam. This means you won’t end up with rubbery or dried out meat. The pot has two durable handles on either side to make transporting it from the oven to the table easy, and it comes with handle covers to prevent scalding. It also comes with a silicone insulation pad to place it on when it’s hot, and a cookbook that has Dutch oven recipes and care instructions to give your dish longevity.

The Overmont Dutch oven is free of PFAS (forever chemicals), PFOA and cadmium, according to the brand.

Why this deal is worth it

This Dutch oven is made from durable cast iron and has an enamel coating — comparable cookware is easily at least a few hundred dollars more. Plus, it comes in several sizes and includes recipes and other accessories.
