Owala doesn’t discount its drinkware very often, making its Back-to-School Sale one of the best times of the year to stock up. Through Aug. 8, shoppers can save 20% on many bottles across the site as well as other retailers like Amazon , bringing most discounted styles below the $30 mark. Keep in mind that not every size and color is included in the promotion.

As a recent college grad who does all the back-to-school shopping for her family and Owala bottle owner, I am a pro when it comes to summer shopping for classrooms , dorms , commutes and more. I’ve learned that the best deals tend to sell quickly — especially on popular Owala colors. Here are the bottles I’d shop first.

Owala FreeSip

The FreeSip is one of the most versatile water bottles you can carry. It’s my go-to because it keeps water cold for hours, and I love that you can either sip through the built-in straw or tilt it back to drink from the wide-mouth opening. The locking lid also helps prevent spills when it’s tossed into a backpack. The 24- and 32-ounce options are currently on sale.

Owala FreeSip Sway

The FreeSip Sway makes staying hydrated easy. Despite its larger capacity, it’s designed to fit in most cup holders, and its insulated stainless-steel construction keeps drinks cold for up to 24 hours. The 40-ounce size is especially great if you don’t want to keep refilling your bottle throughout the day.

Owala SmoothSip Slider

If you start the day with coffee or tea, the SmoothSip Slider is a practical campus or office companion. Its leak-resistant, screw-on lid helps prevent spills in your bag, while the insulated design keeps hot drinks warm and cold drinks chilled for hours. The handled version is especially comfortable to carry between classes or meetings.

Owala FreeSip Twist

The FreeSip Twist won a 2026 NBC Selected Wellness Award for best overall water bottle, thanks to its slim, travel-friendly design. It easily slips into backpack side pockets and gym bags, while the leakproof screw-top lid gives extra peace of mind on the go. Like the original FreeSip, it lets you drink through the built-in straw or wide-mouth opening, making it a great pick for busy school days. The FreeSip Twist comes in a smaller 18-ounce version as well.

Owala Insulated Puffer Tote

Skip the cafeteria line and pack your own lunch with this insulated tote. It keeps meals , snacks and drinks cold throughout the day, has enough room for a full lunch and packs flat when you’re not using it. The waterproof exterior wipes clean after inevitable spills, making it a smart option for students, commuters and anyone bringing lunch from home.
