Mamdani launches fast-track housing-court push, says landlords unable to comply ‘should not be a landlord’

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced Tuesday the debut of the city's new Unified Court System, a mechanism to fast-track emergency cases in New York City Housing Court. "I am proud to announce that the Unified Court System will now fast-track emergency housing court cases where the health, safety and well-being of New Yorkers is at risk," Mamdani said during a Tuesday news conference. The new system will reduce the time tenants face to have emergency hearings on potential negligence from
